MANDATORY TO ENTER THE MALDIVES, EXPENSES YOU HAVE TO BEAR AND HOW TO BEHAVE DURING YOUR STAY
Here below you can find the mandatory requirements from Maldives Ministry of Tourism.
Please kindly note that are not our own rules, but government regulations. You’ll be able also to find these info visiting Ministry of Tourism website.
ARRIVAL TO MALDIVES
Effective from 10th September 2020, all tourists and other short-term visitors are required to have certificate of negative PCR test result for COVID-19, with the sample taken maximum 96 hours prior to departure to Maldives, counting from the first port of embarkation en-route to the Maldives.
The PCR certificate should clearly show the name and address of the laboratory, the result and the date of sample taken.
Note: Children below one year old are exempt from the requirement of a COVID-19 test.
Additionally, in reference to the guidelines provided by related government authorities, possession of a PCR negative test result does not preclude the authorities subjecting such passengers to screening or any other surveillance measures at the points of entry.
The negative PCR test result must be attached while completing Traveler Health Declaration form, which has to be submitted online via IMUGA
by all arriving passengers before arrival (but not exceeding 24 hours before arrival time).
LEAVING THE MALDIVES
You are required to conduct the PCR test 72hrs prior to your scheduled departure from Maldives for a fee of 100$ per person. It will be available easily and directly in Thulusdhoo.
In addition, during exit screening if any tourist is found to have fever or symptoms suggestive of COVID-19 within the past 14 days, they must undergo PCR testing for COVID-19.
For the purposes of contact tracing, it is important that the tourist informs us, if they test positive for COVID-19 after returning to their destination from the Maldives.
TO HAVE A SAFER HOLIDAY IN THE MALDIVES.
We encourage all visitors to install the Maldives’ contact tracing app ‘TraceEkee’ (App Store / Play Store) before arrival into the country to help us ensure your safety and the safety of others as you enjoy your holiday.
Please remember to practice good hygiene, frequent handwashing/use of hand sanitizer, respiratory etiquette/use of masks and maintain at least 3 feet of physical distance between others outside your contact bubble, throughout your entire trip.
